Parachutes

In Science, we have been learning about air resistance.

Mr Meban used his expertise to talk to the year group about parachutes.
We learnt about some of the important factors that make the parachute work!
We watched some exciting footage of the expert in action. We even had a chance to try on the safety suit and see the wind catch in the parachute.

Science - Light Day

In science, we have been investigating light and shadows. We conducted a series of experiments during 'Light Day.' We found out about the direction of light and that it only travels in straight lines. We experimented to see which materials allow light to pass through. Most of our predictions were correct.

We also found out that the 'closer the light source is to the object, the larger the shadow.'

World Book Day

During Book Day, Year 6 children dressed as their favourite book characters. Can you guess who they are?

We also talked about some of our favourite genres and authors and we carried out a survey. Many of the children prefer action stories or mystery stories.

We interviewed our families about their favourite book styles and compared some of the responses.
